Governing Board

Filipa Villas-Boas

Filipa is a mother of three, and has spent 2 decades in education. She is the Managing Director of APECEF – Association for Education, Culture and Training – where she helped to found Colégio de S. Tomás in Lisbon. The Association is currently responsible for two campuses of Colegio de S. Tomás in Lisbon and the management of Colégio de S. José – Ramalhão, with over 2,000 students aged 3 to 18.

Filipa previously worked for 12 years at Colgate Palmolive. She was the Marketing Major Cum Laude student in the 1996 MBA Class of George Washighton University. Filipa enjoys the ocean and loves time with friends and family.

Father Brian Kolodiejchuk

Father Brian is a Canadian priest, who joined the Missionaries of Charity (MC, Mother Teresa) in 1984. He has Masters degrees in both Philosophy and Theology, a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology, and is Editor of 3 books on Mother Teresa’s interior life.

Father Brian was Appointed Postulator of the Cause of Beatification and Canonization of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, in 1999. In 2004 to this present day he was Appointed Director of the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Center. He has been Chaplain to MC Sisters in Moscow, Director of novices in Tijuana, Director of formation of theology students in Rome, and Superior of the MC Fathers community in Calcutta. As of 2008 to present he was Elected Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity Fathers.

Father Brian has been a generous friend to Kairos since inception, and has a close link to Our Lady of Fatima.

 

Henry Wigan

Henry and his wife are parents of five children and were amongst the first founding parents. Henry is co-founder of Mustard Seed, an impact venture firm that helps build early stage technology companies addressing social and environmental challenges.

Henry previously worked at Goldman Sachs and Blackrock, earned a First Class Honours degree at the London School of Economics, and attended Dawmouse Montessori in London as a boy. Henry enjoys outdoor sports, camping, Guincho, the National Geographic, and gardening.

Pablo De La Mata

Pablo, together with Ines, is a father of five children. Pablo worked in financial services for over 15 years. His last position was a fund manager at MFS Investment Management, where he worked for over a decade until he quit the investment management industry in 2022.

Pablo grew up in Madrid, Spain, where he studied at Colegio Estudio and obtained his university degree from CUNEF. Pablo enjoys reading, farming and nature.

The Claude & Sofia Marion Foundation

The Claude and Sofia Marion Foundation was established on 15th December 2006 as a UK Charity registered with the UK Charity Commission. The objects of the Charity are to advance, promote or carry out such charitable purposes as the Board of Trustees think fit.

Education, healthcare and cultural causes have been the main recipient of grants over the years with some important focus on Portugal, primarily in healthcare, and in emerging market countries, primarily India where multiple projects in the field of education have been realized over the years in conjunction with the Salesians of Don Bosco.

Sarah Rowledge

Sarah was Chair of the UK Montessori Schools Association (MSA), a member of the UK Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board (MEAB), and is a recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to the Montessori Community Award.

Sarah pioneered mapping Montessori curriculum to British National Standards. She is founder of 2 Montessori Schools in the UK, and earned her MA in Pure and Applied Biology from Oxford University.

Dan Teller

Dan received a B.A. in History from Trinity College, USA, in 1977. After working as a teacher-naturalist at outdoor education centers, he received his Masters in Montessori Education from Xavier University in 1984. He founded The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori in Ohio, in 1998. He currently serves children in the Level II (6-9) and Level III (9-12) atria.

Dan also serves as a formation leader, training adults as catechists in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Dan also manages the facilities at GSCM’s 13-acre, 4-building campus. He and his wife Maureen have seven children and one grandchild. Dan enjoys woodworking, canoeing, hiking, and gardening.

 

Pedro Rebelo de Sousa

Pedro is Founding and Managing Partner of SRS Advogados, one of Portugal’s leading multi-practice law firms. Pedro is Chairman of the Portuguese Institute of Corporate Governance, and has previously been Chairman and CEO of a Portuguese bank.

Pedro is a devoted and active member of the local community, and President of the Areia Residence Association. Both Pedro's children had a Montessori education. Pedro has been a trusted advisor and guide to Kairos from inception.

José Diogo Douwens

José Diogo is Director and owner of Better Living Architects, with over 30 years of architectural practice, he has considerable experience building schools. He has advised Kairos on all architectural aspects of the School since inception.
